As part of our Building the Best Surly Bridge Club YouTube series, we upgraded our project bike with a 2x Shimano CUES drivetrain. The goal of this conversion was to preserve the Bridge Club’s excellent low-end climbing gears while expanding the overall gear range and adding more top-end speed for pavement and fast gravel riding.

In the accompanying YouTube video, we walk through the reasoning behind the upgrade, the parts selection, and the complete installation process. This bundle includes the components needed to replicate the conversion on your own Surly Bridge Club.

This version of the bundle uses the Shimano CUES crankset instead of the New Albion crankset, allowing compatibility with the stock Surly Bridge Club bottom bracket.

Crankset: Shimano Cues 2x 36/22 teeth or 40/26 teeth 

Shift Levers:  Shimano Cues 2x left; Shimano Cues 10-Speed Right

Cassette: Shimano Cues 10-Speed; 11-39 tooth HG 

Rear Derailleur: Shimano Cues 10-Speed; Long Cage

Front Derailleur: Shimano Cues; 2x; Direct; Front-load

Chain: Shimano 11s/10s link glide chain

Includes problem solvers Direct Mount Adapter
